Our stay a The Park at Southwood was arranged through a corporate travel agency. Our rented unit was within very close proximity of the community garbage collection. That area was always unsightly and overflowing and even worse on move-out or move-in days. The appliances, cabinets, bathrooms and fixtures were all typical builder grade, showed age and needed some TLC. Carpeting over bedroom and living room floors were clean but frayed and worn in areas. The water pressure in the showers are Horrible. Awful actually. The road noise was moderately to pretty loud especially when some of the residents would rev up their motorbikes or "muscle cars." You will hear your next door/upstairs/downstairs neighbors sneezing and talking despite closed doors and windows.
If you have a bedroom adjacent to any stairways, you will hear footsteps and full conversations as people come and go-at ALL hours. The best aspects of The Park is proximity to grocery store, some restaurants and the airport. There are quite a few State of Florida office complexes along with industrial office buildings that are conveniently close and within healthy walking distances. Of concern was the lack of adequate cleaning/antibacterial spray with which the gym weights and equipment could be cleaned. There were many occasions when people did NOT clean up or wipe down equipment after sweaty workouts. The staff will tell you that there are antibacterial wipes available. These antibacterial wipes are bone dry, therefore ineffective. You may as well use dryer sheets to wipe down the gym equipment. One of the residents called to the front office staff to report this and request that, perhaps, a Reminder sign for equipment to be wiped down, post personal use, be posted was met with "people should know that already. It's not our job to babysit." Will not be returning/re-signing lease as there are other options in the area.
